Fitbit Versa or Sense Won’t Charge: How to Fix Charging Problem?
Here we’ve shared a couple of possible workarounds that should gonna help you out.
1. Device Pins or Charging Pins are Dirty
Dust, dirt, moisture, smudges, and debris can basically accumulate over a period of time whether you use the device or not. So, it may possible that your device pins or charging pins are dirty enough. Make sure to clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable gently.
You can use a toothbrush or fiber cloth with a little amount of alcohol to gently rub and clean out the charging pin or connector ports properly so that the metal part becomes visible clearly.
Once done, make sure to dry out the charging pin or connector port using a dry cloth properly so that no liquid element is left.
Note: Do not roughly scrape the metal part of the charging port of contacts with anything like metal. Otherwise, you may damage the plating and cause corrosion on the charging surface.
2. The USB Port or Power Outlet is Faulty
Try using a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger for your Fitbit Versa or Sense.
3. Properly Plug-in the Charger
The device isn’t connected securely or properly to the charging cable or you’re using a charging cable that came with a different device or from another brand which may eventually cause the charging issue due to compatibility or power output.
Make sure to only use the official Fitbit charging cable that came with your device in the box or you’ve purchased a new one from the official website to make it compatible with your Fitbit Versa or Sense.
4. Check the alignment and try reconnecting
Make sure to plug the charging cable into the Fitbit device and then insert the USB port on your desktop or laptop or a power bank to check if that works. You should also try aligning the charging port with the Fitbit device and check whether it starts charging or not.
Try using a UL-certified USB wall charger or another low-energy device to cross-check the issue. Keep your device charged for a couple of hours to ensure whether it’s actually charging or not.
5. The device isn’t working as expected
You’ll have to simply restart your Fitbit device to check if that fixes the charging issue or not. The reboot process may slightly vary depending on the Fitbit device model.

Make sure to press and hold the button power button or both the power+back button for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. Then release the button and wait for the device to boot into the system completely.
6. The device is wet
Sometimes it may be possible that somehow your device is wet or the charging connector/pin is wet or have some moisture in it. So, make sure to dry it out properly using a dry cloth or air blower then connect to the charger and check for the issue.
7. ‘Insufficient power source’ error appearing
Try removing other devices that are plugged into your power source or plug your device into another source then check for the issue thoroughly.
8. The battery is dried out
It may also happen that the battery of your Fitbit device was depleted to 0% and then turned off. Now, it’ll obviously gonna take some time to charge the battery level a bit. Therefore, leave your Fitbit device plugged into the charger for at least 30 minutes to check for the issue. And yes, don’t forget to turn on the power source.
9. Battery isn’t charging out of the box
Maybe your device battery won’t charge right from you unbox it from the box package. If that’s the reason, make sure to confirm whether you’ve peel out the plastic protective cover from the package from seal condition or the package seal already tampered. It’s needless to say that in that scenario, you should always contact the delivery agency or manufacturer to replace or refund.
10. Didn’t use the device for a while and it won’t turn on
Well, this is one of the most common reasons among fitness tracker users or smartwatch users that they can leave their device for a while, and then the device won’t turn on as the battery runs out completely. In that scene, you should charge the device for at least 30 minutes before checking it out.
