To recall, the OnePlus 9 series was the latest flagship by the brand until the OnePlus 9RT 5G model has been released a couple of months ago. Still, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are the widely used flagship-grade devices that came with Android 11 out of the box. Recently the Oppo merged company has started rolling out Android 12. Some OnePlus 9/9 Pro users report Mobile Network Not Working After Updating to OxygenOS 12 (Android 12).
Starting with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12, the OnePlus 9 series users can get a full-fledged taste of ColorOS 12 due to the company merge. So, it seems that somehow the users are lacking the actual OxygenOS skin which isn’t a good sign at all. Meanwhile, the OEM has already pushed out multiple open beta programs for the OxygenOS 12 and there are plenty of bugs or stability issues with the skin for sure that have been reported by the users.
OnePlus is forced to pull out the Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9 series due to several bugs and stability issues. Although it may take some time for the brand to iron out all the issues whatsoever, some reports are already started coming out that users are also facing the mobile network not working issue irrespective of carriers across the globe. So, the loss of the mobile network becomes a big concern for the affected users right now.

Luckily, some users have shared a couple of possible workarounds that should gonna help you out. However, do keep in mind that these workarounds may not gonna work for everyone. Still, it’s better to try them one by one until the problem gets fixed. So, without wasting any more time, let’s get into it.
1. Reset APN (Access Point Network)
It’s better to reset APN settings and then manually select the network operator from the list. Make sure that the SIM card is inserted properly.
- Go to the Settings menu on your device.
- Next, go to WiFi & Network > Tap on SIM & Network.
- Select your SIM card from the list > Go to the Access Point Names and select your APN.
- Then tap on the menu icon at the top right corner > Select Delete APN.
- Once it’s done, go back and head over to the Network Operator section.
- Make sure to turn off the toggle for Choose automatically.
- It’ll now bring up a list of all the available networks. Select one from the list.
- Finally, reboot your device and you’ll be able to get back the APN settings.
- If it’s not, then simply remove and re-insert the SIM card. The APN settings should get back.
- Now, you’ll need to check whether the Mobile Network Not Working issue on OxygenOS 12 has been fixed or not.
2. Wipe Cache from Recovery
Sometimes the software update process can save cache data which becomes corrupted unexpectedly. So, it’s always better to wipe cache from recovery by following the steps below to fix the issue. It’s a better idea to wipe cache data rather than perform a factory reset. To do so:
If it’s not, then simply remove and re-insert the SIM card. The APN settings should get back.
Enable USB Debugging on your device. Go to Settings > About Phone > Tap on Build Number 7 times to enable Developer Options.
Go back to Settings > System > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.
Make sure to download the Android SDK Platform Tools and extract it on the desktop screen as a folder.
Now, connect your OnePlus 9/9 Pro device to the PC via a USB cable. Then make sure to head over to the platform-tools folder address bar.
Type CMD and hit Enter to open the Command Prompt window.
Next, type in the command below in the CMD window and hit Enter to reboot your device into stock recovery:
adb reboot recovery
- Once the stock recovery menu appears on the device > It’ll ask you to enter the device PIN (lock screen).
- Make sure to select Language > Tap on Wipe Data and Cache.
- Select Wipe Cache > Tap on YES to confirm.
- Once the cache data has been removed, make sure to close the screen and choose to Reboot.
- Wait for the device to reboot into the system completely. This should fix the Mobile Network Not Working issue on the OnePlus 9 series with OxygenOS 12.

3. Downgrade OnePlus 9 series from Android 12 to Android 11
If the above methods didn’t help then make sure to downgrade your OnePlus 9/9 Pro device from Android 12 (OxygenOS 12) to Android 11 (OxygenOS 11) safely. Until the OEM come up with a proper fix for OxygenOS 12, you should stay on Android 11 on your primary device.
